What Is Evolve?

Evolve is an online, year-long program that offers you inspiration and information in the areas of parenting, personhood, partnership, and prosperity. It’s led by Carrie Contey, PhD and is supported by a worldwide community.

Evolve is a proven system that inspires you to practice conscious parenting with strategy, skill and ease. We use the experiences and lessons of family life to learn about ourselves and improve our relationships.

Through daily emails, reflective questions, insightful prompts, expert interviews, and community support, you sail through this program feeling more love and more joy with a deeper connection to yourself, your children, your partner, and your money.

Just wanted to give you a big virtual hug. I have seen so many changes in our lives over the past months. My outlook feels so different and full of life and energy! There are things that are slowly shifting in all of us and we are so much more mindful of each other's feelings. Today I made sure to keep the 90 seconds in mind, letting feelings settle and pass without doing anything. It was such a peaceful approach! It definitely changed the tone of the day. I ended my day with my older child giving me the sweetest hug before bed and my younger child saying "Mama, I had a great day with you and I love being your boy." Just pure bliss and music to our ears.

I started learning from Carrie when my son was deep in toddler joy. Carrie has a way of seeing things in a fresh light. She made brilliant suggestions that changed the tone and pace of how we went through our days. Carrie is funny and smart and she’ll tell you the real deal straight out. She was my secret weapon and I can’t imagine getting through that time without her.

Our family is a little unique and when my son was four, he (and his friends) started asking questions that I found difficult to answer. Carrie had a way of making me see the situation as an opportunity to celebrate who we were rather than explain what we were not. With her help, I started to see this stage with more softness and humor and that made a world of difference.

I was feeling very stuck in general. I felt confused about a lot of big things. What should my role as a parent look like? How could I do parenting in a way that was different from the way I was raised, but also felt responsible and authentic to me? Through Evolve, I’ve gained more confidence (growing stronger every day) and trust in myself. A different perspective. A hopefulness about being able to do right by my kids while also parenting in a way that feels responsible and authentic to myself.

Is Evolve for me?

Most likely, yes, Evolve is for you. It was designed for parents who want to have deep relationships with their people and want to bypass all the manipulation, control, and conflict.

Evolve is for people who want to grow. Who have a voice inside them saying, “There must be an easier way to do this.” Evolve is for people who want to consciously create their path.

So if you’re looking for tools and strategies with an amazing community of parents cheering you on, Evolve is for you. We have members whose children range from in utero to 25 years old. We have members who are single, divorced, married, and widowed. We have members who live in Austin, live in Europe, and everywhere in between.

Even with all these differences, the tie that bind us is the desire to explore big ideas and practice daily strategies to deepen and evolve our relationships with care and intention.

I reached out to Carrie Contey when my first child was around 3 1/2. She became demanding and unpleasant. She would hit and kick. She was defiant and pushed boundaries and limits more than ever before and more than we thought she ever would. We literally did not know what to do. We didn't want to spank. We didn't find time outs effective. We had no tools, no language, no clue. No one ever showed me what to do with kids. We never talked about stages and phases. And I felt like a failure as a mama.

Carrie broke it down for us. Understanding the brain development as the first step was crucial. Getting out of my brain and connected with my daughter’s helped me find compassion and understanding - for the biology of it instead of getting upset at the actions. The language and the tools were next. Being able to speak about the feelings and name them was so helpful... for all of us. But one of the most helpful tools that I still use with her (almost 9) and with my youngest (almost 4) is humor and play. Being silly during difficult meltdowns lightens things up, brings the connection back, and it enables us to communicate again - while still feeling the feelings.

Carrie Contey is a life saver. A dream maker. She's able to be the voice of the children, while still providing support and understanding for the parents in their lives. A true gift.

It is amazing how much my brain is shifting through Evolve. I find myself stopping more and empathizing rather than yelling when my son gets frustrated. I am starting to connect the dots with where my stress is eminating from and just being compassionate with myself for the feelings I am experiencing.

My husband and I are better connected and there is more laughter and a lot less judgement in our home.

When I signed up for Evolve, my main motivation was to improve my relationship with my older child. She is five, and she and I had a rough time during her threes and fours. Lots of struggles, negativity, yelling (both of us), tears, and I just felt really disconnected from her and worried she was an unhappy child. We were not enjoying each other, she seemed so sad and angry, and we were just...stuck. It was affecting the vibe of our whole family and just crushing for me because I didn't know how to change things and felt like I'd tried it all. Evolve has helped me take care of myself, and getting clear on what I was feeling enabled me to have real empathy for my daughter and allow her the space she needed. There has been a shift in our relationship, and we are both so much happier. We've turned a corner and I now KNOW and believe that even when we struggle, it is temporary, and a "state not a trait." So freeing!

My wife heard about Evolve and encouraged me to join her in the program. Like a lot of people, we have a lively and exhausting young toddler who saps a lot of our energy over the course of the day. Add a demanding career and the many challenges of the current economy into the mix, and we were finding it harder to connect and support our relationship. My wife and I have been in desperate need of fresh perspectives on our roles as spouses, parents, and individuals, and Evolve has absolutely provided that.

Every day, we have something new to think about in regard to life, our family, and each other. Carrie's encouragement of expressing gratitude daily helps us truly appreciate the many wonderful things we have--and worry much less about the things we don't. Every time life starts to get the better of me, I have an ever-growing list of resources I can go to for comfort and centering. The Evolve Facebook group members are a wonderful team of fellow "life adventurers" who are always there to support each other when times get tough.

I look forward to continuing my journey and gaining life wisdom and perspectives that I can pass on to my daughter as she grows up. Evolve provides the first great steps of that transformation, and I intend to keep following the path wherever it leads.

I feel calmer, not because our children are acting any better or different, but for many other reasons, like:

  • Our parenting approach has shifted. We know we will never be perfect or have perfect kids, but we grant ourselves grace with each new experience.
  • Accepting our children for their uniqueness and not making them fit our standards.
  • Understanding and respecting our children's limits (and our own).
  • Appreciating what we have especially because we struggled and worked to have these little miracles and remembering each day is a miracle.
  • Always… choosing LOVE.

Because of Evolve, I have this whole new heart-crafted basket of powerful, cutting edge tools that help me to live my life as fully and richly as I always knew I could, as a person, as a parent, and as a partner. Evolve has shifted the way I experience challenges and celebrations, from struggle and expectation to joy and intention. For me, Evolve is an ongoing journey of creating a new reality by accepting and loving the very essence of my actual reality. It truly is a gift that keeps on giving!

How Does It Work?

Evolve starts in February and runs for 12 months. Check out our calendar that highlights our big topics for the year. Every month we address a specific topic through the lens of Parenting, Personhood, Partnership, and Prosperity. Evolve members have a variety of ways to engage with the content and they can access whichever works best for them. The program is delivered in the following ways:

Image of monthly tiles

Each month, we focus on one of these big topics through a specific lens.

    Every month follows this flow:
  • Week One: Personhood
  • Week Two: Parenting
  • Week Three: Partnership
  • Week Four: Prosperity

So for example, in April, we explore Boundaries. The first week we’ll learn about Boundaries and our Personhood. The second week we’ll address Boundaries and Parenting. The third will be Boundaries with our Partners. And the fourth we’ll explore Boundaries and our Prosperity.

It’s a really fantastic structure that let’s me support you in all areas of your life, bit by bit!

How do *real* parents use Evolve?

Evolve is not school. There’s no right way to use this program. There really is just the way that works for you. And, that requires some experimenting and some exploring to discover what you need out of the program and what your flow will be as you consume it. Evolve is a vast and deep offering of thoughtfully curated information that has been proven to be valuable and useful to parents over the past 6 years. Everyone who participates in the program does it in ways that work for them. Some people are excited to consume everything that is shared. Some people pick and choose from what’s offered. Some people love being in the community on Facebook, some people never look at it. There are even a few folks who are just in it for the ability to ask me questions for the monthly Q&A sessions.

Bottom line, if you are looking for support, guidance and inspiration this year, Evolve will deliver. The way you consume it is up to you. And every little bit of time invested will make a difference. Even if it’s just a few minutes a day.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does Evolve start and end?

Evolve begins the first week of February and ends the following January. I know that with 12 months of loving support, an incredible community, and innovative tools, you are truly able to expand your world and live your most amazing life. Enrollment closes at the end of January, so don't wait another year to grab this opportunity.

Do I need to live in Austin, TX to join?

Absolutely not! Evolve is a virtual program and can be participated in and valuable regardless of where you live in the world. Currently we have members from as far away as Australia and Spain!

What if I can’t tune into the virtual live events?

No problem. All of the live monthly workshops are recorded and archived inside the Evolve members-only site for easy playback. You can visit them over and over again at a time that is most convenient for you.

Won’t I get the results you’re suggesting here if I just read your blog and watch your public videos?

This is a great question. I take pride in offering a lot of FREE valuable wisdom through my blog and videos and ebooks.

That said, there is no amount of content and wisdom I could ever put on a website or blog that could match the magnitude of guidance, wisdom and support you’ll get inside Evolve. Evolve is my flagship program and it’s where I take the concepts I talk about in my live talks, blog and videos and dive deep.

It’s one thing to give you a quick tip, it’s another thing to give you a series of tools that all stem from a larger strategy and then support you on your journey.

It’s the difference between hearing the concept versus owning it. When you own it, you have a deeply rooted confidence in understanding your child’s behavior and you know exactly how to respond, instantly.

Plus, it’s impossible to measure the infinite value in the Evolve community. There’s nothing that can compare to the feeling of being supported by hundreds of conscious parents who are always only a click away!

What if I jump in and realize that the program is just not a good fit for me?

This is a great question because you're assessing your needs and your capacity for this year. I applaud that. I welcome it! And, I'd love to talk.

Because Evolve is a year long commitment, there are no refunds at any point. And so I am 100% committed to making sure this is the correct decision for you and your family.

So let's connect. Scroll to the bottom of the page and fill out the contact form. Then myself or a team member will reach out and help you decide if this is a program that will serve you and yours.

I like the idea of this but I just feel like I’m too busy and won’t get my money’s worth?

This is a really important concern to address. The truth is, you are busy! And every person who has ever participated in Evolve has been equally busy. Which means you’ll make time for Evolve because you truly want to change some things in your life and grow as a parent, person and partner.

Plus, Evolve has been specifically designed so that you can be “full-on” with it one week or month, and then a bit more “loose” with it other times. Anytime you’ve been away from Evolve, you can jump into the membership site and access any of the nuggets or monthly live workshops you may have missed, or you can just jump back into the action by engaging a Template Partner or checking in with the community.

Another way to consider this is to look at the big picture. Think about just one big challenge you’re experiencing in your parenting, personhood, partnership or prosperity; if you were assured that this would be solved at the end of the year, would you get involved? Of course.

The point is, it takes just one great idea, a-ha moment, or challenge solved to make a massive difference in your life that will have made this program well worth the investment.

My partner doesn’t want to be involved in the program; will it still benefit me?

Yes! Yes! Yes! Two powerful areas of wisdom we explore in Evolve are: 1) how to communicate effectively with your partner to get and stay connected; and 2) how to shift your thinking and your mindset to attract opportunities and abundance.

Both of these areas apply directly to this situation. By becoming a better communicator and by becoming more attuned to your thoughts, beliefs, feelings and energy, you are much better equipped to move toward your partner and parent as a team.

Am I too new for Evolve?

Absolutely not! Evolve was designed for anyone who is interested in evolving as a parent, person and partner! It doesn’t matter if you’ve done years of personal development work and read every parenting book on the planet or if you’re brand spanking new to all of this. If you are ready and willing to learn and grow, you are ready for Evolve!

What will I get out of joining the Evolve program?

Oh my! The goodness is profound (if I do say so myself)! Here is an abbreviated list of what you can confidently celebrate when next year comes around!

You will truly become a more calm, cool and connected parent.

You will experience fewer meltdowns.

You will be more connected than ever before with your kids.

You will know exactly what to do when your child’s behavior is unsavory.

You will know how to get yourself and your kids back to balance, fast.

You will establish a deeper, more consistent connection with your partner.

You will have greater intimacy (and sex) with your partner.

You will have more time for yourself.

You will get more sleep.

You will have more balance in your life.

You will have more energy.

You will feel more confident in your parenting style and decision-making.

You will be less stressed and experience more lightness and playfulness.

You will attract more opportunities than ever before.

You will learn how to feel more abundant regardless of how much money you have in your bank account.

You will move through each day with greater ease and joy!

Still curious? Check out what current members are getting out of it.

Why is this a year?

Real change takes time, repetition and practice. And parents are busy people with very little time to spare. With that in mind I’ve discovered a way to drip phenomenal content to you without it being overwhelming. I’ll also be prompting you to practice various skills and techniques.

As you move through the year, encountering different challenges, you will have my support and the support of the community to help along the way. By giving yourself this year to explore, experiment and evolve you will cultivate and master skills that will serve you (and your children) for the rest of your life.

Give Evolve a year and you will see amazing shifts in your family life!

A Final Word From Carrie

Join the Evolve community now and take the first step towards greater ease, joy and love in your life each and every day!

Carrie

By now I’m guessing you probably know in your gut if Evolve is right for you. But if you don’t, consider these thoughts…

Wouldn’t it be amazing if your kids did what you asked, when you asked them, most of the time?

And you knew deep in your soul that you were bringing the right guidance to them that would help them unfold into respectful, confident, independent human beings?

And wouldn’t it be amazing if you did this full of energy, allowing yourself loads of personal time to rest and recharge?

And you did it with a fully engaged partner who supported you, and you them, and you parented as a team while cultivating your partnership and intimacy?

And on top of it all you focused only on what is working and as a result attracted endless opportunities that brought you wealth in all areas of your life?

And through the process you were in community with hundreds of other like-minded folks who share your values and cheer you on?

This is what is possible through Evolve.

If this sounds like something you’d like to be a part of, then there is just one thing left to do: Join now. Join us!

With love and gratitude,
